FAQ

APPOINTMENT-ONLY PRIVATE STUDIO

Getting Tattooed

Who can be tattooed?

You must be 18 or older to be tattooed. It’s illegal in Victoria to tattoo anyone under 18, even with parental consent, and I’ll need to check your ID at each appointment.
For health and safety reasons, I also don’t tattoo anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can I book a tattoo before I turn 18?

Yes- you're welcome to book in advance for your 18th birthday or any date after. You will need to bring your photo ID to your appointment.

Appointments can be booked up to 3 months in advance.

Please note: I'm unable to tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent. No exceptions.

Can you tattoo over scars?

Yes — as long as the scar is fully healed (usually around 12 months). Feel free to send me a photo beforehand and I can let you know if it looks suitable.

Do you do tattoo cover ups and revamps?

Yes, I do both cover ups and revamps. However, I will need to assess your existing tattoo first and discuss with you your options to see if it is doable. Submit an enquiry form first through my website with photos of your existing tattoo and I will contact you to organise a consultation.

Do you tattoo fingers?

I do, but they can be a little unpredictable. Because of how much we use our hands, finger tattoos can fade faster or heal patchy and sometimes need touch-ups down the track.

Can you tattoo tiny tattoos?

Yes — but there are limits to how tiny something can be while still healing and ageing well.

Sometimes I may suggest going slightly larger so the tattoo stays clear over time.

Do you do consultations?

Not typically. Most tattoos can be discussed easily through my forms. We'll also go through your design together at your appointment and make any adjustments needed before we begin.

However, in some instances I may contact you first to organise one which I do for large continuous tattoos e.g. sleeves, cover ups or any other circumstance I feel I need to discuss in person prior.

Do tattoos hurt?

They can, yes — but I’ll make sure you’re comfortable throughout the session, with regular breaks and anything you need to help make the experience as relaxed as possible.

Booking and Pricing

How do I book?

You can book through my online booking system or enquiry form.

Once I’ve reviewed your submission, I’ll let you know if we need to book an in-person consultation. These are usually only needed for larger projects, cover-ups, or anything that needs to be seen in person.

Everything else is handled online so I can keep my studio time focused on tattooing.

How far in advance can I book?

My booking calendar opens 3 months at a time on a rolling basis. This means you can book any appointment within the next 3 months from the current date.

For example, 4/5/2026 - 4/8/2026. If you looked the following day, it would be 5/5/2026 - 5/8/2026.

I want to book longer than an hour. Where do I book?

The same place! No matter what size your tattoo is, still book online through the booking link and choose whatever time you like. Once I review your request, I will change the duration of the appointment on my end.

How much does a tattoo cost?

My minimum is $150, and my hourly rate is $150. However, this is an estimate.

The final price depends on things like size, placement, and detail. Even very small tattoos are charged at the minimum, as they still require the same setup and preparation. When you book with me, I will contact you providing a quote first.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes — a $100 deposit is required to secure your booking. You will pay this online after your appointment is confirmed. I will send you a payment link on confirmation.

If you need to move your appointment, just let me know with more than 48 hours notice and your deposit can be transferred or refunded. Changes made within 48 hours will result in the deposit being forfeited.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash is preferred, but card, cash, and Afterpay are all welcome!

Booking deposits are paid online.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes! E-gift cards and paper gift vouchers have a minimum payment of $100 and are available to purchase online or in studio.

They are valid for three years and are non-refundable. You must be 18+ years old and have proof of age. If a request is not suitable, the voucher may be used towards an alternative design, transferred to another recipient or refunded to the original purchaser. Unfortunately, I can’t replace them if they’re lost or stolen.

To use a gift voucher, they will still need to go through online booking.

Appointments

What if I need to reschedule or I’m running late?

If you need to move your appointment, please give me at least 48 hours notice.

If you’re more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule as it can affect the rest of the day’s bookings.

Can I bring someone with me?

You’re welcome to bring one support person along.

As the studio is a small private space, I can’t accommodate more than one guest — and no one under 18 is allowed.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Try to get a good night’s sleep, eat beforehand, and stay hydrated.

Wear something comfortable that allows access to the area being tattooed, and avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medications for 24 hours beforehand.

Can I use numbing cream?

You can — I just don’t supply it.

If you do plan to use one, please apply it before your appointment (usually 45–60 minutes prior) and let me know in advance. I advise to wrap the area you have applied numbing cream with glad-wrap and leave it on until you arrive at your appointment.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Whatever you feel comfortable in! Just make sure the area being tattooed is easy to access and avoid tight clothing (e.g. jeans for a leg tattoo).

For more sensitive areas such as the sternum or spine, something loose or flowy works best. Even though my studio is private, I'll provide nipple covers when needed and make sure you're covered as much as possible throughout the appointment to ensure your comfortability.

Healing and Aftercare

Can I tan before or after my tattoo?

You can tan before your tattoo. However, tanning isn’t recommended before your appointment and should definitely be avoided while your tattoo is healing.

When can I exercise or swim?

You’re welcome to bring one support person along.

As the studio is a small private space, I can’t accommodate more than one guest — and no one under 18 is allowed.

Should I re-bandage my tattoo?

No — your tattoo needs air and 'breathe' to heal properly.

Re-bandaging can increase irritation or infection risk. If you feel it needs protection, something breathable like second skin may be suitable.
